Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway smash-hit Hamilton broke an all-time Broadway box office record last week grossing more than $4 million. This makes Hamilton the only Broadway show to bring in $4 million from 8 shows in recorded Broadway history.
The time period in between Christmas and New Year's always brings a ton of business to Broadway due to the touristy nature of New York City during the holidays. The 39 shows that ran last week grossed a total of $57.8 million, a record for Broadway overall, according to the Broadway League. However, Hamilton continues to break personal records, even outdoing itself from last year where it grossed $3.85 million during the seven-day stretch.
The average ticket price to see Hamilton is valued at $375 with attendance set at 102%. Hamilton continues to prove its musical magnificence. Some predict the likelihood of Hamilton joining Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom Of The Opera as the longest running show in Broadway history... Hamilton could potentially even outrun Phantom! No matter what, Hamilton has proved itself, especially financially, for all of Broadway.
