Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit production School of Rock- The Musical is closing on Broadway this Sunday, January 20th, 2019, and to celebrate, the show will welcome back dozens of former young cast members to the stage.
They young alumni will reunite on the Winter Garden Theatre stage for one last epic jam session. The production opened on Broadway on December 6, 2015 and was nominated for four 2016 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score (Andrew Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater), Best Book (Julian Fellowes), and Best Leading Actor in a Musical (Alex Brightman).
Based on the hit film starring Jack Black, School of Rock - The Musical follows struggling rock singer and guitarist, Dewey Finn, after he was kicked out his band. Finn becomes a substitute teacher at a very prestigious prep school. He realizes his students are musically gifted and forms a band to attempt to win the upcoming Battle of the Bands.
