Sara Bareilles, composer and lyricist of Broadway's Waitress, is back in the production as Jenna for a limited time, raking in a very large profit for the production!
Taking the stage alongside her as Dr. Pomatter is friend and Tony Award-winner Gavin Creel. The dynamic duo raked in seven figures for Waitress during the first non-holiday week since March of last year. That week in March 2018 was, to no surprise, the last time that Bareilles was in the production.
Waitress producers Barry and Fran Weissler are no strangers to stunt casting. They've produced and kept Chicago on Broadway for 22 years after rotating a slew of various celebrities into the production such as former Spice Girls and NFL players. With over $1 million made in the past week, Waitress has solidified its phenomenon and it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
