Vanessa Carlton is gearing up to make her Broadway debut in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical on June 27! The "A Thousand Miles" singer will play "Carole King" in a limited engagement through September 1.
At a press event on Tuesday, June 18, Carlton performed "It's Too Late," belting her heart out while simultaneously playing the piano. Like King, Carlton was also classically trained on the piano.
Vanessa Carlton revealed that when she read the script to the musical she cried, "I'm scared and excited and running on adrenaline." The Grammy nominated singer-songwriter optimistically states that she believes she will leave the show being better at whatever she does in the future.
