Katharine McPhee Foster Chats Returning To Broadway's 'Waitress'

Waitress the musical is approaching its home stretch on Broadway, and the lovely and talented Katharine McPhee Foster is back to play Jenna for the production's final weeks. Sam from The Elvis Duran Show, sat down with McPhee to talk about resurrecting her personal Jenna, favorite type of pie, and Broadway cast albums she can't live without.

Katharine McPhee Foster explains how opening the production in London brought new life to her personal Jenna,

“Opening the show (in London) even though I already knew the role, I kind of got to start over because I was working with the creatives in a way that I didn't get to work with them when I was being placed into the show on Broadway. I learned the show in three weeks when I was being placed in and I got very little time with the director because that's how it goes when the show is up and running, you learn from the stage manager and you are off and running… when we opened in London, all the creatives were there for a specific amount of time like a month so I got to have a lot more refined moments in the character. So coming back it feels like my particular performance is more intentional.”

Upon closing, Waitress will have finished 33 previews and 1544 performances. The diner will close its doors on January 5, 2020 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Waitress opened on Broadway on April 24, 2016.
