Chicago is going to going to be the place to be for fans of The Notebook. The all new musical adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel from Ingrid Michaelson and Bekah Brunstetter will premiere with the Chicago Shakespeare Theater September 22, 2020 and run through November 8th. The production will be directed by Michael Grief.
The official synopsis:
A deeply moving portrait of the enduring power of love,The Notebook chronicles the decades-long love story between a mill worker named Noah and a privileged debutante named Allie. Beginning with a whirlwind summer romance in North Carolina in the 1940s, their love affair spans an entire lifetime — in spite of the differences that threaten to pull them apart.
According to Theater Mania, the production will feature a very diverse cast to reflect the "timeless nature of the story." Casting is currently underway and will be announced at another time.
