Dolly Parton's hit musical, 9 TO 5 has added a big star to their Australian production.
Eddie Perfect, one of Australia's leading television and musical theater stars joins the cast as Franklin Hart Jr. Most recently, Perfect wrote music and lyrics for the Broadway smash hit, Beetlejuice. That musical was nominated for a Tony for best original score in 2019.
In statement about Perfect joining 9 TO 5, the show's producers said:
We're thrilled that Eddie has accepted our challenge to return to Australia to play this wonderfully self-centred, chauvinist character after living in New York for a few years. As well as being a fantastic comic and composer, Eddie is a much-loved musical theatre performer, and will be fantastic in 9 TO 5 alongside Caroline, Marina, Samantha, Erin and the wonderful ensemble.
The Australian production of 9 TO 5 is produced by John Frost, Suzanne Jones and Ambassador Theatre Group Productions. It will premiere at the Sydney Lyric Theatre on April 19th, and will follow up with a season at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne starting July 25th.
