New musical Girl From the North Country will open Thursday, March 5th at the Belasco Theatre. Before the performance, Brian d'Arcy James, Ethan Slater, Laura Osnes and more stars walked the red carpet to celebrate the occasion.
The cast of Girl From the North Country includes Austin Scott, Kimber Sprawl, Jeannette Bayardelle, Marc Kudisch, Mare Winningham, Todd Almond, Matthew Frederick Harris, Caitlin Houlahan, Robert Joy, Luba Mason, Ben Mayne, Matt McGrath, Tom Nelis, Colton Ryan, Jay O. Sanders, John Schiappa, Rachel Stern, and Chelsea Lee Williams.
Girl From the North Country features a book and direction by Conor McPherson and music by Bob Dylan. The musical is set in the era of the Great Depression and gives audiences a look at what a small community in Duluth, Minnesota, especially the Laine Family, are dealing with on a day-to-day basis.
Girl From the North Country also features scenic and costume design by Rae Smith, orchestrations, arrangements, and music supervision by Simon Hale, with additional arrangements by Simon Hale and McPherson, lighting design by Mark Henderson, sound design by Simon Baker, movement direction by Lucy Hind, and music direction by Marco Paguia.
