Lincoln Center Theater postponed the new musical Flying Over Sunset to the fall due to COVID-19 concerns.
The Broadway musical was originally scheduled to begin previews on March 12, the day of the broadway shutdown, and was scheduled to open on April 16.
“We are proud of these shows and the many talented artists who made them,” said André Bishop, artistic director of Lincoln Center Theater in a statement. “And we hope and pray that we will reopen them in the fall. That is our plan. May better times come to us all.”
The production stars Carmen Cusack, Harry Hadden-Paton, and Tony Yazbeck as Clare Boothe Luce, Aldous Huxley, and Cary Grant, respectively. Other cast members include Erika Henningsen, Jeremy Kushnier, Emily Pynenburg, Michele Ragusa, Robert Sella, Laura Shoop, and Atticus Ware. The new musical features a book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Michael Korie and choreography by Michelle Dorrance in her Broadway debut.
