On this episode of Growin' Up Broadway, Tim McDonald and SJ Arnegger chat about the latest Broadway news including iHeartRadio Broadway partnering with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to stream the Disney on Broadway's 25th Anniversary concert to benefit the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund. The concert will be hosted by Frozen's Ryan MCartan and feature a cast of 79 performers and a 15-pieces orchestra.
Tim and SJ catch up with Broadway's Arielle Jacobs and her husband J.J Caruncho about how they are dealing with social distancing and also chat about the new musical Between the Lines and what audience members can expect from the show. The newlyweds treat our listeners to "My Perfect World" from Between the Lines with music and lyrics by Samsel & Anderson, book by Timothy McDonald and based on the book by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer. The musical is set to make its NYC debut at the Tony Kiser Theater at Second Stage in 2020.
Also joining the podcast is Bay Area Children's Theatre Executive Director Nina Meehan who has an update on a brand new initiative called Creativity Corner for students, parents and teachers to participate in as a learning extension during the COVID-19 issue.
