Samantha Barks and Stephanie McKeon will star as sisters Elsa and Anna respectively in the London production of Frozen.
The West End version of the 2013 Disney film is set to reopen at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane this fall. All London West End theaters are currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The production plans to begin previews on October 30.
Frozen opened on Broadway in March 2018 and was nominated for Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score. Caissie Levy and Patti Murin originated the roles of Elsa and Anna. Ciara Renée and McKenzie Kurtz stepped into the roles shortly before the Broadway Coronavirus shutdown.
Barks previous musical credits include Éponine in Les Misérables in the West End as well as in the 2012 film, Nancy in a UK tour of Oliver! and Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman on Broadway. McKeon starred as Aisling in the long-running Irish TV soap Fair City and made her West End debut as Natalie in the original cast of The Commitments. She also appeared in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at the Aldwych theatre.
