The Tony Award-winning songwriter of Hadestown, Anaïs Mitchell, is releasing a book about her creative process titled Working on a Song: The Lyrics of Hadestown.
The book will take readers inside Mitchell's more than decades-long journey of building the musical from the ground up, detailing her inspiration and breaking down the show's lyrics. The book is now available for pre-order and officially comes out on October 6.
At the 73rd Tony Awards in 2019, Hadestown won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Orchestrations, Best Scenic Design of a Musical, Best Lighting Design of a Musical and Best Sound Design of a Musical
