HBO has finally given us an airdate for David Byrne's American Utopia that has been directed by Spike Lee. It will be hitting both HBO Max and HBO on October 17th at 8pm.

American Utopia, which features Byrne sharing the spotlight with a diverse ensemble of 11 musical artists from around the globe, first arrived on Broadway at the Hudson Theatre on October 20, 2019. The show consistently sold out the 961-seat Hudson Theatre, recouping its $4 million investment after only 10 weeks and broke the theater’s box-office record in February.
American Utopia concluded its original run in February of 2020. It was supposed to return to Broadway this September, and will also be released as a book.
While we can't return to watch live theatre, this filmed performance will make you feel like you're back. Watch the trailer for it below.
