The first trailer has been released for the upcoming HBO documentary about the life of musical legend Tina Turner. The documentary, directed by TJ Martin and Dan Lindsay, will air later this spring. The film has been an ongoing project for the past few years and will cover Turner's life and career - from rise to fame to her comeback in the 1980s.
The film will feature interviews with Turner, which took place in her longtime hometown in Switzerland and include behind the scenes footage that has rarely been seen. Included in the film with be interviews with Angela Basset, who famously portrayed Turner in the film inspired by journalist Kurt Loder's book I, Tina. For Broadway fans, Oprah Winfrey and Katroi Hall will also be apart of the document with footage covering opening night for Tina - The Tina Turner Musical.
