Additional casting has been announced for the 2024 New York City Center Encores! productions of Once Upon a Mattress, Jelly's Last Jam, and Titanic.
Joining the previously announced Sutton Foster as Princess Winifred the Woebegone in Once Upon a Mattress Jan 24 – Feb 4, 2024) is Michael Urie as Prince Dauntless. Joining Encores! Artistic Director Lear deBessonet are choreographer Lorin Latarro, music director Mary-Mitchell Campbell and new concert adaptation by Amy Sherman-Palladino.
Jelly's Last Jam (Feb 21 – Mar 3, 2024) features Tony, Emmy, and Grammy winner Billy Porter as the Chimney Man and Tony Award winner Joaquina Kalukango as Anita. The two will be jopined by original Broadway cast members Mamie Duncan-Gibbs, Stephanie Pope Lofgren, and Allison M. Williams, reprise their roles as the Hunnies. The cast is joined by director Robert O’Hara (A Raisin in the Sun), tap choreographer Dormeshia, choreographer by Edgar Godineaux, and music director Jason Michael Webb.
Titanic (Jun 12 – 23, 2024) will be directed by Anne Kauffman and feature Tony Award winner Bonnie Milligan as passenger Alice Beane. This nearly sung-through show from creators Maury Yeston and Peter Stone remains a musical theater revelation, painting a heartrending portrait of the individuals whose dreams of America were dashed in the Atlantic.
