An Evening of Wicked Fun will celebrate the work of award-winning composer and lyricist, Stephen Schwartz. The Spring Celebration fundraising will be held at the House of Harry Winston on May 16, 2019 featuring a star-studded lineup to honor Schwartz.
On hand will be Idina Menzel, Megan Hilty, Andrea Martin, Liz Callaway, and many others, according to Broadway World. The proceeds of the night will go to benefit the artistic, education, and outreach programs of The Wallis Theater. Programs at The Wallis serve more than 70,000 audience members annually. That includes thousands of underserved students in the greater Los Angels area.
Stephen Schwartz has a career spanning more than 40 years. Event Co-Charis, John Bendheim and Cathy Louchheim said, “His contributions to stage, film and television have become the bedrock of the contemporary American musical landscape and we are honored to tip our hats to him on this very special evening."
Schwartz has written music and lyrics for the Broadway hit Wicked. He’s also contributed his work on Pippin, The Magic Show, Godspell, and many others. He’s also collaborated with Leonard Bernstein and Alan Menken (Disney’s Enchanted). He has been inducted into the Theater and Songwriters Hall of Fame as well has having received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His awards include three Academy Awards and four Grammys.
