Beautiful - The Carole King Musical is in its homestretch.
Producers Paul Blake and Mike Bosner announced that Sarah Bockel and Cory Jeacoma will take on the roles of Carole King and Gerry Goffin as the hit musical heads into its final 9 weeks.
Sarah Bockel and Cory Jeacoma will begin their performances on Thursday, September 5th and will continue until the show’s final performance on Sunday, October 27th. They will be joining current cast members Jessica Keenan Wynn as Cynthia Weil, Jacob Heimer as Barry Mann, Paul Anthony Stewart as Don Kirshner, Liz Larsen as Genie Klein, and 18 ensemble members. Bockel and Jeacoma will be replacing Vanessa Carlton and Even Todd respectively.
Beautiful tells the story of Tony and Grammy Award-winner Carole King. The musical begins during King’s teenage years as a songwriter and continues through her life until she makes it into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The musical includes over 20 performances of King’s hit songs including “You’ve Got a Friend,” “One Fine Day,” “Up on the Roof,” ''You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling,” ''Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” and Natural Woman.”
Beautiful has played over 2,400 performances, which is far more than the original production, Annie, and makes Beautiful the 27th longest running musical in history. The musical has seen almost 2,200,000 audience members, including the famous Ms. King herself. It has made a profit of almost $250,0000,000, which is more than any other Broadway to ever perform in the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
