Taylor Swift just got nominated for an award at the 2020 Golden Globes!
The complete list of nominations were unveiled on early Monday morning (December 9) and among the nominees was the “Endgame” musician, whose new record “Beautiful Ghosts” received a nod for best original song in a motion picture. Swift co-wrote the record with musical composer Andrew Lloyd Webber for their upcoming feature film Cats, which opens in theaters on December 20.
After waking up to the exciting news, Swift took to Twitter to celebrate her nomination. “I woke up today to the news that 'Beautiful Ghosts' is nominated for a Golden Globe - it's so cool that one of the most fun, fulfilling creative experiences I've ever had is being honored in this way by the HFPA,” she tweeted.
“I ended up spending many days on set watching the other performers do their scenes," added Swift. "Watching the character Victoria, played by Frankie Hayward inspired me so much and 'Beautiful Ghosts' was the result. Congrats to my co-writer and buddy 4 life @OfficialALW. This is just purrfect."
As Swifties know, the pop star will portray the flirtatious Bombalurina in the musical movie, which also stars Jennifer Hudson, Jason Derulo, James Corden, and others. (ICYMI: You can watch a clip of Swift channeling her inner feline here!)
With her latest nomination, this makes Swift’s third time being put up for a best original song trophy at the annual awards show. She's been previously nominated in the category for “Safe and Sound” from the Hunger Games and Sweeter Than Fiction” from One Chance.
