The 74th Annual Tony Awards, scheduled to air live on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, June 7 from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, will be postponed due to COVID-19.
New dates and additional information will be announced once Broadway opens again.
Two shows that were in previews at the time of the Broadway shutdown, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Martin McDonagh's Hangmen, announced they would not resume performances. Other productions such as Lincoln Center Theater's Flying Over Sunset and Roundabout Theatre Company's Birthday Candles and Caroline, or Change have rescheduled to open this fall. With Broadway shut down, eligible shows, nomination deadlines and other details have to be adjusted before The Tony Awards can take place.
More details to follow.
