While we will likely be without live theater until at least the end of 2020 it appears that Hamilton in Los Angeles won't see the stage until more than a year after it's original opening date or March 12, 2020.
They had hoped to be back at it for September of 2020 but with the current surge in coronavirus cases the show has been postponed. The new plan is to run April 6, 2021 through June 27th. It will take a hiatus and then return for another engagement that begins October 12th and run through January 2, 2022 at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre.
In a statement the producers of the show said,
Broadway in Hollywood and Hamilton continue to monitor the developments of COVID-19. In support of the well-being of the theatre-going public as well as those who work on the production and at the theatre, the difficult but necessary decision has been made to cancel all performances of Hamilton currently on sale.
Tickets for the new engagement will go on sale July 28, 2020.
