Solea Pfeiffer And John Cardoza Star In 'Moulin Rouge!' On Broadway

Celebrating five spectacular, spectacular years on Broadway, the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Moulin Rouge! The Musical welcomed Solea Pfeiffer as Satine and John Cardoza as Christian to the Broadway company on Tuesday, October 15 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Solea Pfeiffer appeared most recently as Myrtle in the world premiere of Florence Welch’s Gatsby at American Repertory Theater. On Broadway, she's starred in Almost Famous as Penny Lane and in Hadestown as Eurydice. Her off-Broadway credits include You Are Here at Audible Theater; Eva Peron in Evita and Songs for a New World at New York City Center; and Ophelia in Hamlet at the Delacorte. On tour, she played Eliza in the West Coast premiere of Hamilton. Other credits include Sondheim on Sondheim at the Hollywood Bowl, West Side Story for the LA Philharmonic and National Symphony Orchestra) and The Light in the Piazza at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Her TV and film credits include “The Good Fight,” “Scandal” and A Jazzman’s Blues@_solaylay

John Cardoza created the role of Younger Noah in the musical adaptation of The Notebook, both on Broadway and in the show's world premiere at Chicago Shakespeare Theater. He returns to Moulin Rouge! The Musical having previously played the role of Christian in the National Tour. John made his Broadway debut in the original cast of Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill. He received his BFA in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory of Music. @johnfcardoza

At the 74th Academy Awards, the film was nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Picture, and won two.
