Australian actor Ainsley Melham recently visited the iHeartRadio Broadway studio to discuss his role as Dwayne in the production of BOOP! The Musical, which began previews at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre on March 11, 2025, with an official opening on April 5.
This new musical brings the iconic 1930s cartoon character Betty Boop to life, with Melham portraying her love interest, Dwayne, a jazz-loving trumpeter. Melham expressed excitement about originating a role on Broadway, as he has only ever replaced. He previously made his Broadway debut in 2019, reprising his role as Aladdin, a character he initially portrayed in the Australian production.
